Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Combining psychological insight and practical strategies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the clinical practice of providing structured, evidence-based interventions, individualized treatment planning, and ongoing support for individuals experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I specialize in helping clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, shift maladaptive behaviors, and build healthier coping strategies that promote long-term emotional well-being.

CBT is considered the gold standard of psychotherapy for a wide range of mental health concerns. Clients in CBT receive a treatment plan that targets specific thought patterns and behaviors contributing to their difficulties. As a CBT therapist, I work collaboratively with clients to improve their self-esteem, develop resilience, and cultivate skills to navigate stressors effectively. I use research-supported techniques to holistically support clients in achieving meaningful change. I also collaborate with other providers, when appropriate, to ensure coordinated care and progress.

The goals of CBT include helping clients recognize and challenge distorted thinking, develop healthier ways of responding to emotions, increase behavioral activation, and strengthen the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions.

As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I work to remediate:

  • Avoidance behaviors

  • Maladaptive coping patterns

  • Difficulty with emotional regulation

  • Ineffective problem-solving skills

  • Social and relationship stressors

  • Problem-solving training

  • Stress management techniques
